6min

STEPx/DIRx/ENABLEx outputs

These outputs can control up to 6 axes simultaneously. Each output is an Open Collector and can be used with 5V and 24V with a shared current limit of 200mA. The maximum step frequency is 125Khz.

Not all motor drivers are capable of supporting step frequencies up to 125Khz. If you notice that the motors are not moving at all or show erratic movement, try to lower this frequency. Also, consult your motor driver datasheet for the supported frequency.

SYSREADY output

The SYSREADY indicates that the system is active and the software is ready to switch on. The safety relay will switch on only if the ESTOP buttons connected to it are in a safe state.

This output is an Open Collector output.

TOOLON output

The TOOLON output is used to activate the tool that is used in the application.

This output is galvanically isolated and short-circuit proof.

TOOLDIR output

The TOOLDIR output is used to control the direction of the associated tool. This works for regular spindles and stepper spindles.

This output is galvanically isolated and short-circuit proof.

COOL1/COOL2 outputs

The COOLx output is an output to control the flow of any coolants that might be used.

This output is galvanically isolated and short-circuit proof.

PWMx outputs

The PWM outputs can be used to modify the speed or strength of the tool. These outputs are Open Collector outputs. An open-collector output means it switches the connected wire to GND. This enables the user to switch devices that do not need the same voltage rating as the controller.

By default, the PWM uses a frequency of 5kHz, but this can be set in the software by setting the PWM frequency.

Be advised that PWM1 and PWM32 are also used by the PWM-VOLT1 and PWM-VOLT2 respectively. This means that these PWM outputs can not be addressed separately if these are in use.

These outputs are galvanic isolated and short-circuit proof.

0-10Vx outputs

The iCNC600 controller contains two 0-10V outputs, these outputs are combined with one PWM output each. These outputs are both available on the controller. Make sure to use this in combination with the respective ground connection as can be found in Connectors.

AUX OUTx outputs

These outputs are generic outputs that can be used for any application. This output is galvanically isolated and short-circuit proof.
