How to

Restore the configuration to an earlier state

The software creates backups of the configuration.

In the event of an unfortunate power outage or other circumstances that lead to damage to the configuration files, you can restore them manually.

The backup files are stored in the directory "backup" in the installation directory. The most recent backup files have the same name as the original, older files have a timestamp appended to the name.

In order to restore a file, first rename or move the files that are currently used, in the config directory of the installation directory (e.g. C:\CNC5.00\config):

  • cnc.ini
  • server.ini
  • tools.ini
  • service.ini
  • variables.ini

Then, choose the desired files according to the backup date, copy them from the backup directory, and paste them into the config directory. If the files did not have the original filename, but with a timestamp in it (e.g. 20220627-103853--cnc.ini), please rename them back (e.g. cnc.ini)

Please note that prior to version 5 of the software, there was only a single configuration file in the installation directory - cnc.ini. The backup and restoration process is the same, other than file count.
